The Seplat Energy Producing Nigeria Unlimited Applied Technology Training Program (ATTP) is a City & Guilds–approved foundation-level technical training programme created to equip young Nigerians with the practical skills and engineering knowledge required to work as entry-level technicians in the oil and gas industry.

This programme is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry-ready technical competence through hands-on, industry-focused training.

Programme Background and Legacy

The Applied Technology Training Program has a strong legacy dating back to 1995, when it was originally implemented by Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPNU).

Today, the programme is administered by Seplat Energy Producing Nigeria Unlimited (SEPNU), the operator of a Joint Venture with the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL).

Over the years, ATTP alumni have gone on to become highly skilled technical professionals, contributing significantly to Nigeria’s oil and gas and energy sectors.

Training Structure and Certification

The SEPNU ATTP runs for approximately 23 months and is delivered at the Seplat Energy Technical Training Centre (TTC), Eket.

The programme combines classroom instruction with intensive practical training, delivered by experienced industry professionals in a world-class learning environment.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive:

• Seplat Energy Certificate of Completion
• City & Guilds Certificate in Applied Engineering Technology (in the relevant discipline)

Trainees are mentored to develop independent thinking, technical excellence, and professional discipline required to succeed in the energy industry.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements to be considered:

• Must be a Nigerian citizen
• Must hold a National Diploma (ND) in one of the following disciplines:
  • Chemical Engineering Technology
  • Electrical / Electronic Engineering Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Petroleum Engineering Technology
• Must have graduated with a minimum of Upper Credit
• ND qualification must have been obtained not earlier than 2023
• Applicants with higher academic qualifications are not eligible
• Must possess a valid government-issued identification, such as:
  • National ID Card
  • Voter’s Card
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • International Passport
