About the Nigerian Revenue Service National Essay Competition
The 2026 Nigerian Revenue Service National Essay Competition marks the fourth season of the programme. It is designed to promote critical thinking, stimulate informed debate, and encourage research-based discussions on taxation, accountability, and economic governance in Nigeria.
Through this platform, undergraduate students can contribute meaningful ideas that address real-world fiscal and revenue challenges.
Essay Topic
Analyze the challenges faced by the Nigerian Revenue Service in implementing the new tax laws and propose practical solutions to address them.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Nigerian citizen
- Be an undergraduate student in a recognised tertiary institution
- Be between 20 and 35 years old
- Submit an original and unpublished essay
- Persons living with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply

Winners and outstanding participants in the 2026 Nigerian Revenue Service National Essay Competition will receive:
- First Prize: ₦5,000,000
- Second Prize: ₦3,000,000

All submitted essays must comply with the following:

- Proper referencing and citation of sources
- Typed using Times New Roman font
- Font size 12
- Double-spaced formatting
