The Development Bank of Nigeria is calling on business owners in Anambra State to apply for the 2026 DBN Entrepreneurship Training Program, a flagship initiative designed to equip entrepreneurs with practical business skills and provide access to grant funding to help scale viable ventures. The programme combines free online training, mentorship, and funding opportunities aimed at strengthening Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises across Nigeria.

Successful participants will gain access to structured learning, expert guidance, and a chance to share in grant funding of up to ₦8.5 million.

About the Development Bank of Nigeria

The Development Bank of Nigeria is a development finance institution established by the Federal Government of Nigeria to address financing and capacity gaps faced by MSMEs. DBN supports sustainable business growth through financing, partial credit guarantees, and technical assistance delivered via participating financial institutions nationwide. The Bank does not lend directly to entrepreneurs.

About the 2026 DBN Entrepreneurship Training Program

The 2026 DBN Entrepreneurship Training Program represents the eighth cycle of DBN’s nationwide entrepreneurship capacity-building initiative. It focuses on improving business management, financial literacy, and access to finance for entrepreneurs operating in different sectors.

Participants will undergo online training and a competitive selection process that leads to in-person workshops and grant opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the 2026 DBN Entrepreneurship Training Program, applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a Nigerian citizen or legal resident
  • Own a for-profit business in any sector
  • Operate a business that is based in Anambra State
  • Have a business registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
  • Be available to participate fully in the training once selected

Program Duration and Rewards

  • 50 top-performing participants will be invited to an in-person workshop in Anambra State in June 2026
  • 15 entrepreneurs will be selected as final grant winners
  • ₦8.5 million in grant funding will be shared among the 15 winners
  • All participants on the learning platform can also compete for a ₦50 million national cash prize pool

Mandatory Courses

All applicants must complete a minimum of four mandatory courses on the DBN BizAid Learning Management Platform and achieve an average score of at least 70 percent across all quizzes:

  1. Accounting and Bookkeeping
  2. Sustainability for MSMEs
  3. Marketing and Sales Techniques
  4. Credit Management and Access to Finance

  1. Register on the DBN BizAid application platform
  2. Enrol in and complete the four mandatory courses
  3. Eligible applicants will receive an email invitation to apply for the face-to-face training
  4. Complete and submit the online application form via the provided link
  5. Receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of submission
  6. Applications will be screened and shortlisted based on eligibility criteria
  7. Successful candidates will be contacted via email and phone call

Training locations will be announced and conducted consecutively in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt.
