Applications are now open for the 2026 AI and Multimedia Authenticity (AMAS) Young Researcher Associate Programme, a one-year research collaboration designed to engage promising early-career researchers in tackling the fundamental challenges of trust, authenticity, and rights protection in an era of pervasive AI-generated and AI-edited content.
For an AI-native generation, synthetic media is a foundational layer of expression and information exchange, reshaping traditional benchmarks of what is considered “real.” This programme provides an opportunity to design the future of content integrity alongside emerging leaders in the field.

Research Journey for 2026 AI and Multimedia Authenticity Young Researcher Associate Programme
Associates will explore the evolving definition of authenticity and provenance through the lens of digital-native creators. The programme is structured as follows:
- Months 1–2: Definition – Literature review and idea generation.
- Months 3–6: Invention – Designing solutions for a world of hybrid human-AI co-creation.
- Months 10–12: Standardization – Informing standards and policy discussions with global stakeholders (e.g., ITU, ISO, United Nations bodies).
Eligibility Requirements
The programme is seeking young leaders currently enrolled in Master’s, PhD, or MBA programs who are actively exploring challenges related to AI and multimedia authenticity. Eligible participants include students, researchers, or professionals.
- Disciplines encouraged include Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, business, political science, and other relevant fields.
- Applicants from all regions of the world and with diverse perspectives are welcome.
