Scholarship Coverage
The FAO–Hungarian Government Scholarship fully covers:
- Application and tuition fees
- Basic books and notes
- Dormitory accommodation
- Living expenses (subsistence costs)
- Health insurance
Note: The scholarship covers the student only; family members are not included.
Application and Selection Process
The scholarship selection process consists of two phases:
Phase 1: FAO Pre-Screening
- Candidates must submit complete application dossiers via email between 21 January and 28 February 2026.
- Incomplete or anonymous applications will not be considered.
- FAO pre-screens and forwards complete applications to the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture, which coordinates with the respective universities.
Phase 2: University Selection
- Shortlisted candidates may be required to take written or oral English examinations.
- Each participating university conducts its own selection process and notifies successful candidates.
- Selection is based on:
- Citizenship and residency of an eligible country
- Academic excellence and school achievements
- English language proficiency
- Motivation and interest in the field
- Health status
- Age (preference for candidates under 30)
