Energy Hub is a Nigerian clean-tech startup developing IoT-enabled portable power stations designed specifically for university students. As we run early-stage pilots, we’re seeking a hands-on Hardware & Firmware Engineer to help build, integrate, and test V0 and V1 systems ahead of scale.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working close to hardware, solving real-world power challenges, and shipping functional systems—not slide decks.

Company: Energy Hub
Location: Remote (EU-based candidates preferred)
Contract Duration: 12–16 weeks
Engagement Type: Contract
Rate: €50–€70/hour (milestone-based)

Key Responsibilities

  • Modify and test portable power stations for real-world pilot deployments
  • Integrate GSM/LTE modules for device tracking and remote control
  • Implement safe remote shutdown, fault handling, and system telemetry
  • Develop resilient firmware for power management, thermal control, and battery systems
  • Prepare small pilot batches and document safety-critical system behavior

Requirements

  • Strong experience with embedded systems (ESP32, STM32, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with batteries, inverters, or power electronics
  • Proven GSM/LTE module integration experience
  • Comfortable working with off-the-shelf hardware and early-stage prototypes
  • Strong focus on safety, reliability, and system robustness

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience building low-code dashboards for device monitoring and operations

Why Join Energy Hub?

  • Work on real infrastructure with real users and immediate impact
  • Direct collaboration with the company founder
  • Clear scope, fast pilots, and minimal product bloat
  • Opportunity to contribute to a grant-funded, institutional scale-up

How to Apply

Interested candidates should send the following to [email protected]:
