Job Description

Location: Abuja
Work Schedule: 8:00am – 7:00pm (Two days on / Two days off)
Role Overview
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our clinical team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting patient diagnosis, treatment, and wellness through accurate and timely laboratory testing.
You will work closely with nephrologists and other healthcare professionals, particularly in the care of patients undergoing haemodialysis and those living with chronic kidney disease.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests across assigned areas including hematology, bacteriology, microscopy, and routine chemistry, in line with established protocols
- Process patient specimens using approved technical procedures
- Calibrate, standardize, and maintain laboratory equipment
- Conduct quality control checks, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Validate, interpret, and accurately report test results
- Ensure timely delivery of patient reports in accordance with laboratory policies
- Participate in the research and development of new laboratory procedures as required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS)
- Registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN)
- Valid and current practicing license
- Completion of mandatory internship and NYSC
- Strong computer proficiency and experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
Experience
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years post-qualification experience
