Alan & Grant is recruiting a Digital Channel Manager to oversee and strengthen a government-facing digital communication ecosystem. This role is responsible for ensuring that all digital platforms effectively communicate public programmes, institutional priorities, and national information in a clear, accessible, and timely manner.

The ideal candidate is a strategic digital professional with strong public communication experience, data-driven decision-making skills, and the ability to manage high-impact digital platforms in structured and regulated environments.

Role Overview

The Digital Channel Manager will lead the planning, execution, and optimisation of all digital communication channels, ensuring consistency, accuracy, audience engagement, and compliance with public-sector communication standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimise the performance of all digital platforms, including the website, social media channels, email newsletters, and digital service portals
  • Develop and maintain a structured digital content and publishing calendar aligned with institutional objectives and national communication priorities
  • Monitor, analyse, and interpret digital analytics to track engagement, reach, growth, and audience sentiment, using insights to guide content strategy
  • Collaborate with content, creative, policy, and stakeholder teams to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality digital communications
  • Oversee end-to-end execution of digital campaigns, including platform-specific optimisation, content distribution, and online community management
  • Ensure all digital platforms comply with government standards on accessibility, data protection, information accuracy, and public communication protocols
  • Manage digital escalations, crisis communications, and rapid-response updates across platforms when required
  • Identify opportunities for platform enhancement, user experience improvement, and adoption of emerging digital tools relevant to public-sector communication
  • Prepare regular performance reports and recommendations for continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, Information Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience managing multiple digital platforms for a public institution, development agency, or large corporate organisation
  • Strong understanding of digital analytics, audience behaviour, and data-driven content optimisation
  • Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), social media management tools, and digital analytics platforms
  • Experience with online community management and public-facing engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to translate government policies and programmes into clear, accessible digital formats
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure or crisis communication situations
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
