Alan & Grant is recruiting an experienced Country Manager to lead Nigeria’s operations for KUK’s food-ingredients distribution business. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving commercial growth, managing full country P&L, building high-performing teams, and strengthening customer and supplier relationships within Nigeria’s food manufacturing ecosystem.

The ideal candidate is a commercially driven leader with strong technical food industry expertise and a proven ability to scale distribution businesses in regulated markets.

Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Job Type: Full-Time | Senior Management

Role Overview

As Country Manager, you will own end-to-end business performance in Nigeria—shaping strategy, expanding market presence, and positioning KUK as a leading specialty food ingredients distributor across key segments including bakeries, beverages, food processors, and food service companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Nigeria’s operations and assume full ownership of country P&L performance
  • Develop and execute country strategies aligned with global KUK objectives, supplier expectations, and long-term growth targets
  • Drive technical and solution-based selling, including:
    • Product demonstrations and sample trials
    • Recipe development and formulation support
    • Customer technical training and troubleshooting
  • Build, coach, and manage a high-performing sales and technical team, including recruitment, KPI setting, and performance development
  • Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, logistics partners, and regulatory bodies
  • Ensure full compliance with NAFDAC, SON, and relevant food industry standards
  • Generate market intelligence through competitor analysis, pricing strategy development, and identification of new product opportunities
  • Lead forecasting, demand planning, and local supplier relationship management
  • Execute commercial strategies across modern trade, food processors, and ingredients portfolio cross-selling

Requirements

  • University degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a closely related discipline
  • 8–12 years of professional experience, including 3–5 years in sales leadership or management roles
  • Prior experience in food ingredients distribution (strongly preferred)
  • Deep understanding of Nigeria’s food manufacturing landscape and regulatory environment
  • Strong technical capability to support customers with product development, formulations, and problem-solving
  • Proven leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on commercial execution ability

Why This Role Matters

This position offers the opportunity to shape and scale a national business, influence market strategy, and lead impactful partnerships across Nigeria’s fast-growing food industry.
