Job Summary

The Project Monitoring Officer will be responsible for overseeing, tracking, and ensuring the effective execution of construction and infrastructure projects under the Black Pelican Group.

This role focuses on monitoring project timelines, quality standards, budgets, risks, and contractor performance to ensure delivery aligns with strategic objectives and industry best practices. The successful candidate will serve as a key liaison between project teams, contractors, consultants, and management, providing timely insights, reports, and recommendations to support data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate ongoing construction and infrastructure projects to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery in line with Bagno Technik standards.
  • Track project progress across multiple sites, identifying delays, risks, and deviations from approved timelines or specifications.
  • Conduct and coordinate periodic site visits to assess work quality, materials usage, and compliance with technical and safety standards.
  • Review and verify project documentation, including work schedules, progress reports, variation requests, and change orders.
  • Collaborate closely with project engineers, site supervisors, contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth execution and prompt issue resolution.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Project Management Office and relevant stakeholders, providing regular project performance updates.
  • Support the development and implementation of project monitoring frameworks, KPIs, and reporting tools.
  • Prepare and submit detailed monitoring reports with actionable recommendations for corrective measures when required.
  • Ensure compliance with approved designs, engineering standards, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Participate in project review meetings and contribute insights to improve processes and operational efficiency.
  • Verify project milestones and completion stages prior to handover and recommend approvals for contractor payments based on confirmed progress.
  • Ensure proper documentation, filing, and archiving of all project-related records for accountability and reference.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the project monitoring function.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in project monitoring, construction supervision, engineering project coordination, or similar roles.
  • Professional certifications such as COREN, PMP, or QMS certification are an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in construction, real estate development, or engineering consulting firms is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced, site-based environment.
