The National Institute of Professional Engineers and Scientists (NIPES) has officially opened applications for its 2026 Engineering and Science Scholarship Program, aimed at supporting talented Nigerian students pursuing careers in science and engineering.

• Scholarship Type: Undergraduate Scholarship

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

Applicants must:

• Be currently enrolled in an accredited Nigerian higher institution
• Be studying a science or engineering-related course
• Be in 100 level or above
• Complete at least one free NIPES online course
• Clearly explain the skills gained from the NIPES course in their personal statement

Priority Consideration

• NIPES student members will receive priority during selection
• Non-members are encouraged to join NIPES to improve their chances
• Successful non-member applicants will receive a complimentary one-year NIPES student membership

Personal Statement Guidelines (500–750 Words)

Your personal statement should address:

• Your academic background and educational journey

• Skills learned from the free NIPES course and how they support your academic or career growth

Selection Criteria

Applications will be assessed based on:

• NIPES student membership status
• Quality and clarity of the personal statement
• Demonstrated passion for science or engineering
• Completion of a NIPES online course and explanation of acquired skills
• Alignment with NIPES values and objectives
