As part of the Federal Government’s initiative to expand access to tertiary education across Nigeria, Federal University Gashua (FUGA) was established under the second phase of the 12-new-university expansion plan approved in 2010.

Following extensive consultation and planning involving the NUC, TETFund, State Governments, and other stakeholders, the university commenced operations on 18th February 2013 with the appointment of its pioneer Vice-Chancellor (Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman) and Registrar (Alhaji Sule Dauda).

Federal University Gashua is now inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill various teaching and non-teaching positions.

General Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be Nigerian citizens aged 18–50
NYSC discharge or exemption certificate required for senior roles
Computer literacy is mandatory for administrative roles

Teaching Qualification Highlights
• Graduate Assistant- First-Class Degree
• Assistant Lecturer- Master’s Degree or 2:1 + professional certifications
• Lecturer II- PhD or Master’s with publications
• Lecturer I- PhD + 3 years’ experience
• Senior Lecturer- PhD + 5 years teaching/research + publications
• Reader- PhD + 8 years teaching/research + proven scholarship
• Professor- PhD + 12 years’ experience + minimum 20 publications

Non-Teaching Role Requirements (Samples)
Deputy Registrar (CONTISS 14)
• Honours degree in Social Sciences or Humanities
• 15 years relevant experience
• Professional membership + computer literacy

Deputy Bursar (CONTISS 14)
• Bachelor’s in Accounting
• 15 years’ cognate experience
• Membership in relevant professional body
