About the Program
Each selected fellow will:
• Be matched with a faculty member at the Vienna BioCenter (VBC)
• Work on a cutting-edge research project in that professor’s laboratory
• Be fully integrated into the lab’s scientific environment
With support and supervision from lab members, scholars will:
• Perform experiments
• Analyse data
• Develop and discuss research ideas
• Present and reflect on their findings
Beyond hands-on lab work, participants will also join:
• Lab meetings
• Journal clubs
• Other scientific and social activities at the Vienna BioCenter

Eligibility Criteria
The Vienna BioCenter Summer School 2026 is open to:
• Undergraduate and Master’s students from any nationality
• Students who are:
o Pursuing a BA (Hons), Master’s, or MSc degree
o Major in Life Sciences fields such as:
Molecular Biology
Cell Biology
Chemistry
Or related disciplines
• Students who have:
o Completed at least 2 years of a Bachelor’s degree, or
o Completed at least 1 year of a Master’s degree
• Applicants with a strong academic record
