Job Description

Cormart Nigeria Limited is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Learning and Development Officer to support employee capability development and drive continuous learning across the organization. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and evaluate training initiatives that align with business goals and performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine training needs assessments using performance appraisal data, employee feedback, and departmental consultations.
Design, implement, and assess training programs covering technical, functional, and behavioral competencies.
Partner with departmental leaders and line managers to identify capability gaps and develop targeted learning solutions.
Organize and manage onboarding and induction programs for new hires.
Develop annual training calendars, manage training budgets, and prepare reports on learning activities and outcomes.
Measure training effectiveness using feedback tools, assessments, and performance metrics.
Manage relationships with external trainers, consultants, and learning service providers.
Maintain accurate records of training attendance, materials, and post-training evaluations.
Support career development, succession planning, and other talent development initiatives.
Stay updated on modern learning technologies and emerging L&D trends to enhance delivery methods.
Facilitate internal knowledge-sharing sessions and conduct in-house training when required.

Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Professional HR certification (CIPM, PHRi, SPHRi, SHRM or equivalent) is an added advantage.
4–5 years of relevant experience in Learning & Development or an HR Generalist role.
Demonstrated ability to design, deliver, and evaluate effective training programs.
Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and project management abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel); experience with e-learning platforms is an advantage.
