Job Overview

As a Radiologist Utilization Reviewer, you will conduct independent medical reviews of radiology service requests to determine medical necessity and adherence to established guidelines. This role involves critical analysis of clinical information and imaging reports to provide expert opinions and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive reviews of prior authorization requests for radiology procedures.
• Apply clinical expertise and knowledge of current medical literature and practice guidelines to assess medical necessity.
• Document review findings clearly and concisely, providing evidence-based rationale for decisions.
• Communicate review outcomes and recommendations to clients in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and adherence to review protocols.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
• Board Certification in Radiology.
• Active and unrestricted DC or Maryland State Medical License.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical practice experience in radiology.
• Familiarity with utilization review processes and guidelines (e.g., Milliman Care Guidelines, InterQual).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
