This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials, components, and services essential for our manufacturing operations, contributing directly to the quality and timely delivery of our elevator products.

Job Overview

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing all aspects of the procurement process, from identifying suppliers and negotiating contracts to ensuring timely delivery and maintaining optimal inventory levels. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical and negotiation skills, dedicated to upholding the company’s standards for quality and value.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers for raw materials, components, and equipment.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable agreements.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and manage the entire requisition-to-payment cycle.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast future material needs to prevent shortages and overstocking.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and explore new sourcing opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and ethical standards.
• Track and report on procurement activities, costs, and supplier performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in relevant procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of the Nigerian market and local supplier base is an advantage.
