Job Overview

The Technical / Engineering Design Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of the engineering design process for Proforce Industries Limited. This includes conceptualization, development, testing, and implementation of innovative armoured vehicle and personal protection solutions, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and client-specific requirements. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of technical excellence and drive continuous improvement within the engineering department.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the engineering design team, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
• Oversee the entire design lifecycle from concept generation to final product release.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, and sales departments to ensure design feasibility and market alignment.
• Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for design initiatives.
• Implement and maintain robust design review processes and quality control measures.
• Drive innovation and explore new technologies to enhance product performance and features.
• Prepare and present technical documentation, reports, and design proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience (minimum 7 years) in engineering design management, preferably within the defence, automotive, or aerospace sectors.
• Strong knowledge of materials science, CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating engineering teams.
• Excellent understanding of armoured vehicle design principles and protection technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies.
