Job Overview

The Internal Control Officer will be instrumental in safeguarding CFL Group’s assets, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and promoting operational efficiency. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of internal control frameworks and risk management principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor internal control systems and procedures across all CFL Group entities.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify control weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Investigate instances of fraud, waste, and abuse, and report findings to management.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on internal control best practices.
• Review financial and operational processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on internal control activities and findings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CISA, or CIA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal audit, internal control, or risk management.
• Proficiency in accounting software and audit tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Nigerian corporate governance and regulatory environment.
