Job Overview

The Agricultural Recovery Officer will be instrumental in identifying, securing, and managing surplus agricultural produce, liaising with farmers, distributors, and food businesses to divert edible food from waste streams to those in need. This position requires strong networking skills and a deep understanding of agricultural supply chains within Lagos.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and establish partnerships with agricultural stakeholders to secure surplus food donations.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the efficient collection and transportation of recovered agricultural products.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards throughout the recovery process.
  • Maintain accurate records of collected produce and manage inventory.
  • Collaborate with program teams to align food recovery efforts with nutritional program needs.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in agricultural operations, food sourcing, or logistics.
  • Strong understanding of the agricultural landscape in Lagos State.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
