Supply & Logistics Officer (Re-Advertisement) – UNICEF Nigeria

UNICEF Nigeria is seeking a dedicated and experienced Supply & Logistics Officer to contribute to our vital work in achieving the Millennium Development Goals and advocating for the protection of children’s rights. This re-advertised position offers a unique opportunity to support our Country Programme’s mission to accelerate the realization of the rights of all children and women, focusing on survival, development, protection, and participation. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of essential supplies and services to vulnerable populations across Nigeria.

Job Overview

The Supply & Logistics Officer will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of UNICEF’s supply chain operations in Nigeria. This includes procurement, warehousing, distribution, and inventory management of supplies crucial for child survival, development, and protection programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end supply chain process, from procurement planning to last-mile delivery.
  • Manage the procurement of goods and services in accordance with UNICEF’s regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure efficient warehousing and inventory management, maintaining accurate stock records.
  • Coordinate the safe and timely distribution of supplies to programme sites and beneficiaries.
  • Monitor supply chain performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Liaise with government counterparts, implementing partners, and other stakeholders on supply chain matters.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of supply chain strategies and policies.
  • Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex supply chains and a strong understanding of procurement principles.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and systems for supply chain management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local Nigerian languages is an asset.
