Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is seeking dedicated Drivers to join our team in Nigeria. As an international non-governmental organization, CRS supports relief and development work globally, assisting individuals based on need, irrespective of creed, ethnicity, or nationality. We collaborate with local partners to implement our programs, strengthening their capacity as a core operational principle.

Job Overview

The Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of CRS staff, goods, and equipment within project areas and to/from designated locations. This position is vital for the smooth execution of CRS operations and program delivery in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CRS vehicles safely and adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Transport staff, visitors, and project materials to various locations as assigned.
  • Maintain vehicles in good working condition, ensuring regular servicing and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of assigned vehicles for daily use.
  • Log mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant data accurately.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of goods as needed.
  • Follow security protocols and guidelines at all times.
  • Requirements

  • Valid Nigerian driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a driver, preferably with an NGO or international organization.
  • Knowledge of local traffic laws and road networks in Nigeria.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and local languages.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
