Job Overview

As an Excess Manager at GWX Logistics Limited, you will be at the forefront of managing and mitigating surplus inventory and operational inefficiencies within our extensive supply chain network. Your primary focus will be to identify, analyze, and implement strategies to reduce excess stock, minimize associated costs, and improve overall asset utilization. This role requires a keen analytical mind, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to driving positive change within a fast-paced logistics environment. You will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure seamless operations and contribute directly to the company’s profitability and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement robust strategies for identifying, monitoring, and managing excess inventory across all warehousing and distribution points.
* Analyze root causes of excess inventory, including forecasting inaccuracies, procurement issues, and sales performance, and recommend corrective actions.
* Lead initiatives to reduce or liquidate excess stock through various channels, such as promotions, transfers, or disposal, while maximizing recovery value.
* Collaborate with procurement, sales, and operations teams to improve inventory planning, demand forecasting, and order fulfillment processes.
* Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory levels, carrying costs, and stock turnover, and report on performance regularly.
* Conduct regular audits of inventory data and physical stock to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
* Identify and implement process improvements to prevent the recurrence of excess inventory issues and enhance operational efficiency.
* Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in inventory management and logistics to continuously refine our strategies.

Requirements

* A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in inventory management, excess stock reduction, or a similar operational role within the logistics or supply chain sector.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
* Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel, with a strong understanding of data analysis tools.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across different departments.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.
