Global Peace Development (GPD) is a visionary non-governmental organization committed to fostering lasting peace as the bedrock for sustainable development. Since our inception in April 2002 as Global Peace International, we have dedicated ourselves to catalyzing positive change, with a foundational focus on Nigeria. Our overarching aspiration is to cultivate a nation where peace and development are not just ideals, but tangible realities enjoyed by every citizen.

## Job Overview

Global Peace Development (GPD) is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented State Coordinator to champion our mission at the grassroots level within a designated state. This pivotal role will be instrumental in translating our global vision into impactful local initiatives, driving community engagement, and ensuring the successful implementation of GPD’s programs. The State Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for all GPD activities within their assigned state, fostering strong partnerships and advocating for peace-building efforts.

## Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement comprehensive state-level strategies aligned with GPD’s overarching goals and objectives.
* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local government authorities, community leaders, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders.
* Lead and manage the execution of GPD’s peace-building and development projects within the state, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
* Mobilize community participation and ownership in GPD initiatives, fostering a culture of collaboration and empowerment.
* Monitor, evaluate, and report on the progress and impact of all state-level activities, providing timely and accurate data to the GPD headquarters.
* Identify emerging peace and development challenges and opportunities within the state and propose innovative solutions.
* Organize and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and community dialogues to promote peace education and conflict resolution.
* Represent GPD at local forums, meetings, and events, effectively communicating our mission and advocating for our cause.

## Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Peace Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
* Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in program management, community mobilization, and project implementation, preferably within the NGO sector.
* Demonstrated understanding of peace-building principles, conflict resolution mechanisms, and sustainable development practices.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups of people.
* Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with a proven ability to motivate and guide local teams and volunteers.
* Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting, with a keen eye for detail.
* Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to challenging environments.

## What We Offer

* The opportunity to contribute significantly to a meaningful cause and make a tangible difference in communities.
* A dynamic and supportive work environment that values innovation and collaboration.
* Exposure to diverse cultural contexts and the chance to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Opportunities for professional growth and development within a respected international organization.
* The chance to be part of a passionate team dedicated to fostering peace and sustainable development worldwide.
