The Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Integration Officer job in Borno offers an opportunity for experienced public health and humanitarian professionals to contribute to improving adolescent health outcomes in Nigeria. Job Overview

The Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Integration Officer will support programs that promote the health and well being of adolescents in humanitarian settings. The role requires strong collaboration with stakeholders from health, education, and community sectors to design and implement effective ASRH training programs and initiatives.

The successful candidate will also contribute to capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge sharing that supports the integration of adolescent health services in communities affected by crises.

Responsibilities of the Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Integration Officer

Program Assessment and Gap Identification

The officer will analyze existing programs to identify areas that require improved integration of adolescent health services.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting assessments to identify gaps in ASRH integration within humanitarian response frameworks
• Engaging with Sexual and Reproductive Health working groups to gather data on program challenges
• Analyzing findings to inform program improvement strategies

Mapping and Engagement of Civil Society Organizations

Responsibilities include:

• Mapping civil society organizations and youth led organizations working on adolescent health
• Engaging these organizations to contribute to gap analysis and training development
• Facilitating collaboration between community groups and humanitarian partners

Capacity Building for Adolescents

The role focuses on empowering adolescents to participate in health initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing training programs for adolescents
• Building skills in project management, leadership, and community engagement
• Encouraging youth participation in ASRH advocacy and interventions

Stakeholder Coordination

Responsibilities include:

• Organizing stakeholder meetings involving sectors such as health, education, and WASH
• Conducting focus group discussions and key informant interviews to gather insights
• Supporting multi sector collaboration to address adolescent health challenges

Development of ASRH Training Programs

Responsibilities include:

• Designing context specific training materials for healthcare providers and youth organizations
• Ensuring training approaches are engaging and youth friendly
• Supporting knowledge transfer and professional development for stakeholders

Training Implementation and Evaluation

Responsibilities include:

• Organizing pilot training sessions for practitioners across sectors
• Collecting feedback to evaluate training effectiveness
• Updating training materials based on lessons learned and emerging needs

Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing

Responsibilities include:

• Designing mentoring systems to support local organizations working on ASRH
• Developing tools and checklists to assess ASRH service quality
• Conducting workshops and webinars to share lessons learned and best practices

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related discipline
• Master’s degree is an added advantage
• Minimum of four years of experience in public health or humanitarian programs
• Experience working on adolescent health initiatives or related sectors
• Strong communication and facilitation skills
• Proven ability to engage with diverse stakeholders including adolescents and community groups
• Experience in capacity building and training program development
• Knowledge of data collection and analysis methods
