Job Responsibilities

As a Remote Sensing Engineer at Serco, you will:

  • Support Earth Observation application projects for the European Space Agency
  • Work closely with end users to understand operational and scientific needs
  • Analyse optical and SAR satellite data for diverse applications
  • Develop and validate Earth observation use cases
  • Translate user requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with GIS and engineering teams
  • Present results through workshops, demonstrations, and technical documentation
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of products, tools, and methodologies

Required Qualifications and Skills

Candidates applying for the Remote Sensing Engineer role should have:

  • A degree in Physics, Remote Sensing, Geomatics, or a related discipline
  • Strong experience in satellite remote sensing, GIS, and image analysis
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL
  • Knowledge of cloud computing, big data technologies, and artificial intelligence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Spanish or French is an advantage
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in collaborative environments
