Job Description
Applications are now open for the Women for Zero Hunger Program 2026, a pan-African initiative led by WIA Philanthropy in partnership with Stop Hunger. This program is dedicated to supporting African NGOs and social organisations that advance women’s economic empowerment as a key driver of food security and hunger reduction.
Since its launch in 2022, Women for Zero Hunger has empowered locally rooted organisations delivering sustainable solutions that break the cycle of hunger by strengthening women’s access to income, resources, and economic opportunities.
About the Women for Zero Hunger Program 2026
The 2026 edition of Women for Zero Hunger focuses on scaling high-impact initiatives at the intersection of:
- Women’s economic autonomy
- Food security and nutrition
- Sustainable development
This programme combines capacity-building, strategic mentorship, and funding to help organisations expand the reach and impact of their projects.
Who Can Apply
The Call for Expressions of Interest is open to African-based organisations meeting the following criteria:
- NGOs, associations, or foundations with a structured team and clear governance
- Organisations implementing projects that directly contribute to women’s economic empowerment

Benin, Botswana, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Namibia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, Tunisia
Benefits for Selected Organisations
Organisations selected as participants will receive:
- Financial support to scale impactful projects
- Strategic mentoring and guidance for project structuring
- Support with impact measurement and reporting
- Enhanced visibility through WIA Philanthropy and Stop Hunger networks
Laureate Benefits
In 2026, three organisations will be chosen as laureates. Each laureate will benefit from:
- Project funding to expand their initiatives
- A 6-month tailored support programme including:
- Strategic mentoring and ongoing follow-up
- Project structuring and financial planning support
- Consolidation of impact indicators and reporting tools
- Simplified framework for measuring and reporting impact
- Increased visibility through digital communication, storytelling, and partner networks
