Job Description
Applications are now open for the 2026 World IP Day Youth Video Competition, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). This annual competition invites individuals and groups to create a 60 to 90-second video demonstrating how intellectual property (IP) rights drive innovation and creativity in the sports industry.
The 2026 theme, “Game Changers: IP Powering Sports Innovation”, encourages participants to explore how IP empowers inventors, creators, and entrepreneurs in sports, and how innovation is shaping the future of the industry.

- Eligible Participants: Individuals or groups (up to 10 participants)
- Age Requirement: 18–35 years old (at least one participant in a group must meet this requirement)
- Video Duration: 60–90 seconds

Video Theme and Requirements
Participants are encouraged to create videos that highlight innovation, creativity, and IP in the sports world. Suggested focus areas include:
- How IP supports innovation and creativity in sports
- How inventors, creators, and entrepreneurs are redefining the game
- The impact of IP-driven solutions on athletes, fans, or the sports industry
Video Submission Guidelines
- Videos must be original and not previously published online or awarded in other competitions
- All content must be created by the participant(s), with permissions obtained for any third-party materials
- Proper authorization must be provided for any background music or sound recordings
- Videos must be free of watermarks or similar markings
- Subtitles or captions must not be embedded in the video
- Videos can include audio narratives in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish
- The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools is permitted
- All content must respect copyright, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, and other IP or proprietary rights
How to Participate
- Register on the competition platform
- Submit your video entry by March 15, 2026, 23:59 CET
- Participate in the public vote for the People’s Choice Prize from April 6–19, 2026
Prizes
Winners of the 2026 World IP Day Youth Video Competition will receive:
- First Prize: Digital equipment valued up to CHF 3,000
- Second Prize: Digital equipment valued up to CHF 2,000
- Third Prize: Digital equipment valued up to CHF 1,000
- People’s Choice Prize: Digital equipment valued up to CHF 500
- Top 20 Entries: Training opportunities through the WIPO Academy
