The 2026 MUTA Education Scholarship Program is now open for applications, offering financial support to outstanding undergraduate students in Nigeria. About the 2026 MUTA Education Scholarship Program
The MUTA Education Scholarship Program supports full time undergraduate students enrolled in accredited Nigerian institutions. Successful applicants will receive funding to assist with tuition, academic fees, research costs, and other education related expenses for the 2026 to 2027 academic year.
One qualified recipient will be selected from each of the fourteen Tiv speaking Local Government Areas in Benue State, with additional recipients selected from Taraba State and Nasarawa State.

Scholarship Benefits
Recipients of the 2026 MUTA Education Scholarship Program may use the awarded funds to cover:

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the 2026 MUTA Education Scholarship Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Be enrolled as a full time undergraduate student in STEM, medicine, or any allied medical field
• Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Be from one of the eligible Local Government Areas or states
Applicants who do not meet the minimum CGPA requirement will not be considered, regardless of their standing within their local government.
Selection Criteria
Eligible applications for the MUTA Education Scholarship Program will be assessed using the following criteria:
• Academic standing based on CGPA, accounting for 50 percent
• Strength and clarity of the personal statement, accounting for 40 percent
• Community service involvement, accounting for 10 percent
Any application containing falsified or misleading information will be automatically disqualified.
Required Supporting Documents
Applicants must submit a completed application form along with the following documents:
Personal Statement
A two page, double spaced essay explaining why you deserve the scholarship. The statement should clearly outline your academic background, achievements, community service activities, career goals, and financial need.
Certificate of Origin
An official document issued by your State or Local Government confirming your place of origin.
CGPA Certification Form
Applicants must download the official CGPA verification form and have it completed and signed by the Academic Officer or Head of Department at their institution. Applications submitted without this form will not be reviewed.
Application Deadline and Notification
All completed applications and supporting documents must be submitted on or before 11:59 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, using US Eastern Standard Time.
Award recipients will be notified by email. Applicants who are not selected will not receive individual notifications. The list of successful candidates will be published on the official MUTA website and shared on MUTA Education’s social media platforms during the second or third week of June.
Award Ceremony
The scholarship awards will be presented at a formal ceremony scheduled for July or August 2025. The confirmed date will be announced once finalized. Applicants are encouraged to regularly monitor official MUTA platforms for updates regarding their application status.
