The Global Graduate Trainee Program 2026 offers a two-year rotational experience in Lagos, Nigeria, and Singapore, designed to fast-track emerging talent into leadership roles. Programme Overview

The Union Maritime Graduate Trainee Program 2026 consists of four six-month rotations across key business areas, providing comprehensive insight into end-to-end operations. Each rotation is structured to develop technical, analytical, and leadership capabilities under the guidance of experienced mentors.

Possible Rotation Areas

  • Projects: Plan, launch, and execute impactful maritime initiatives
  • Commercial Operations: Manage vessel performance and cargo movements
  • Top Fenders: Gain hands-on experience in marine services and port operations
  • Technical: Explore engineering innovations driving the fleet
  • SeaLabs: Develop digital and data-led maritime solutions
  • HR: Support recruitment, talent growth, and company culture initiatives
  • Finance: Provide analysis to guide commercial and operational decisions
  • Global Admin: Coordinate cross-border operations and processes
  • TMS: Engage in vessel engineering, compliance, and performance monitoring
  • Tetra Foundation: Contribute to training and youth development in the maritime sector

Participants may also engage in Singapore-based roles, particularly in commercial analytics and strategy, contributing to data-driven initiatives supporting Union Maritime’s expansion in Asia and globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver measurable outcomes during each rotation
  • Collaborate with line managers, mentors, and peers; participate in review sessions
  • Work across multiple locations and time zones, fostering inclusion and safety
  • Participate in individual and group learning and development projects
  • Present project outcomes to senior stakeholders and maintain a portfolio of achievements

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in any discipline
  • For Singapore applicants: degree completion by July 2026
  • For Nigeria applicants: completion of NYSC by July/August 2026
  • Minimum Second-Class Upper Division (2:1) or equivalent
  • 0–2 years post-graduation experience
  • Availability to start in September 2026 for a two-year program
  • Strong communication, analytical problem-solving, teamwork, and growth mindset
  • Fluency in English and ability to work onsite at chosen base
  • Lagos-based candidates must be able to commute to Apapa
  • Legal work authorization in Lagos or Singapore (no sponsorship provided)
