Job Description
The Senior Associate will manage end-to-end grant administration processes, including solicitation, selection, disbursement, monitoring, and closure of grants. The role requires strong financial oversight and experience in donor-funded program compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review financial and programmatic reports from grantees or partners, ensuring compliance with donor requirements
- Conduct accounting and bookkeeping for grants, including expenditure verification and reconciliation
- Strengthen institutional systems of sub-grantees to promote accountability and sustainability
- Write grant proposals and deliver presentations as required
- Ensure compliance with donor financial frameworks (e.g., FCDO, USAID, World Bank)
- Perform other tasks related to grant management as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of Second Class (Upper) division in Finance or Accounting from a reputable university
- Professional certification (ACCA, ICAN, or equivalent) is an added advantage
- Minimum of five O’Level credits in one sitting, including English Language and Mathematics
- 5–7 years’ work experience managing grant administration processes
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with financial management software (QuickBooks, Sage, SAP)
- Strong consulting skills: analytical thinking, written and verbal communication, and presentation
