Applications are now open for the 2026/2027 Reuters Institute Journalism Fellowship Programme at the University of Oxford. About the Fellowship

Who Can Apply

To be eligible for the Journalism Fellowship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of five years of professional journalism experience (or equivalent expertise in exceptional cases)
  • Freelance journalists are welcome to apply
  • Applicants must not work in public relations, public affairs, or corporate communications
  • Open to journalists from all regions globally, including Africa, Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America, and Latin America
  • Commitment to returning to journalism after completing the fellowship
  • Strong working ability in English sufficient for academic discussions and collaboration

Fellowship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive support package, including:
