Job Description
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is inviting eligible Nigerians to apply as Ad-Hoc Election Staff for upcoming electoral activities across the country.
INEC is constitutionally mandated to organize and supervise elections nationwide — and this recruitment provides an opportunity for qualified citizens to support credible, transparent elections.
Available Roles
- Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO)
- Registration Area Centre (RAC) Manager
- Presiding Officer (PO)
- Assistant Presiding Officer (APO)
- Registration Area Technical Support Staff (RATECH)
Eligibility & Requirements
1️⃣ Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO)
Applicants must be:
- A Public/Civil Servant on GL 10–14, or
- A Registration Area Officer (RAO) / INEC permanent staff on GL 10–14 not assigned to other election duties.
2️⃣ Registration Area Centre (RAC) Manager
Candidates must be:
- A Head of School, or
- A staff member on GL 07 and above of the institution or public building hosting the RAC.
3️⃣ Presiding Officer (PO) / Assistant Presiding Officer (APO)
Applicants must fall into any of the categories below:
- Serving NYSC Corps Member
- Penultimate student of a Federal/State tertiary institution with basic IT skills
- Permanent MDA staff with OND or on GL 07–10
- INEC staff on GL 07 or 08
- Former NYSC Corps Member (2022, 2023, or 2024)
4️⃣ Registration Area Technical Support Staff (RATECH)
Applicants must:
- Possess an Information Technology (IT) background
- Be an eligible INEC ICT staff (State or HQ) not assigned to other election duties
General Conditions
Applicants:
- Must not belong to any political party
- Must not publicly support any political candidate or party
- Must reside in their selected state of assignment (except RATECH applicants)

- Personal bank account number
- Passport photograph (white background, max 5MB)
- Two referees’ contact details
- Valid Staff or Student ID
- NYSC Call-up Number (for current or eligible ex-corps members)
- Highest qualification (PDF)
- Valid means of identification (JPG/JPEG)

- Upload required documents and passport photo.
- Provide referee details.
- Confirm accuracy, submit your application.
- Print your Acknowledgement Slip (required for verification).

If you previously registered on the portal (2019) or started an application for the 2026 FCT Area Council Elections, simply log in to update or complete your application.
